In today's world, especially amidst the challenges posed by the post-COVID landscape, many young people face obstacles in their academic journey. These challenges often lead to disengagement in learning, derailing progress towards successful completion of school. Without a high school diploma or GED, accessing opportunities for gainful employment, military service, or vocational training becomes significantly more difficult.
The Youth Reengagement Program offers a vital lifeline to young individuals grappling with academic, attendance, or health-related challenges. Through mentoring and engaging activities, this program provides crucial support to help participants overcome barriers and reignite their educational journey. By setting goals and fostering connections with community resources, participants are empowered to chart a path towards earning their diploma or GED.
A 1:1 mentoring, advocacy, tutoring and goal setting program, the youth reengagement program focuses on assisting disengaged youth with navigating barriers to attendance and academic success. Services are offered to both K-8 and High School youth in-school, afterschool, in the CIC setting, and out in the community.
Funded by grants from the Oregon Department of Education's Youth Development Division, this program exemplifies our commitment to supporting youth in our community.
